The September Heights

Hello! Welcome to Haiku Heights, and the Height of Haiku Challenge in September... (THE SEPTEMBER HEIGHTS)

The topics for each day in September are given below.

I hope to see many of you here through the month and hope you have fun writing haiku.

Just a general reminder... please keep your haiku to a maximum of 17 syllables.

Waiting for the 1st of September, as I think are many of you too.

You can use this page for general discussions on each day once the prompts are out as well.

Have fun :)

Your host,
Leo.

"Drawbridge" just about had me stumped, as I don't normally think of the word as one to use in haiku.

I am so happy to be joining everyone again for a good challenge at writing haiku.
A question for the administrator. Why is there always and "X" by my post?

Dear host Leo,
Will you be visiting sites
on September nights?

@Ellecee,

In case you link wrongly, that X enables you to remove the link from our linky widget. It'll be there till you clear cookies from your browser, or the linky time limit ends. :) It's quite normal, don't worry. Happy Heights to you...! :)

Ghostom, I don't know how to contact you at your blog :) I hope you find this, or someone who knows you can pass on the message...

Please click on the post title in your blog, and not on your dashboard. Clicking on post title in blog gives you the post link, whereas in your dashboard, just gives the post editor, which isn't public and viewable to all.

Regards,
Leo.

That part is tough for me too, RSji.. to leave a comment for all. :) But hang in there. I'm sure you can do it, one blog at a time.

Hi Ooooh I will link 1-4 in one post .... ( I thought I had just missed the boat!)....

Hi All - I was delighted to be able to catch up and participate. ... I did not think that I'd be able to post Days 1-4 . I noticed Leo's earlier request that I submit those 'catch-up' submissions under one link which I have done (including today's which was posted properly and separately)...
Looking forward to a more leisurely pace and sharing for the rest of the month. :) Happy Haiku

Hello to everyone - This is such a wonderful month of haiku so far is it not? There is so much that is very special about it all. And it still continues. I want to thank everyone for their kind comments on my contributions. These comments are appreciated very much and they encourage me to think more deeply.

So far the September Heights are a joy to participate in. I have read wonderful haiku and it's still continueing. Love it when I can write an every day haiku or cascade haiku and read all those nice comments. Thank you all forthis stunning haiku month. Keep inspired and enjoy.

Missed "creation" and "Grass" as was out of town. Will be posting "Creations" soon.

Vinay Leo R. said...

If you are going to link up, then it has to be to the current prompt, "Meadow". You can of course write for "Creation", "Grass" and "Meadow" in one post and link that to "Meadow".

My effort to keep myself focused on 'She' in her various roles has been pushing me to create night after night...as my own rule I look at the prompt fifteen minutes before the midnight hour..and try to create it spontaneously with help of God...duly helped by God and your god wishes have survived 28 days...two more to go..hopefully will complete the challenge..

Thank you everyone for your constant support and encouragement..not able to keep up with comments but I read and try to catch-up..

The September Heights is almost over. It was a real journey through all kinds of prompts. It wasn't always easy to write a haiku on a given prompt mainly because of the language, as you know English isn't my mother tongue, but I succeeded every day again. Sometimes I was delighted with the haiku I had written and sometimes I wasn't satisfied with it, but always ... my haiku got wonderful comments. It was great to do this and I can't wait 'till the next April Heights of 2013. Well ... it was really a joy to participate in the September Heights and now ... our paths going apart again. I will start my own daily haiku meme Carpe Diem, seize the day, and I hope to see a lot of visitors who share their haiku with Carpe Diem.
For now ... Leo thank you for hosting a wonderful month of haiku writing ... it was a joy and I enjoyed reading all those different post of all our Haijin here. Thank you for giving us, haiku addicts, the opportunity to write a haiku on a given prompt every day of September.

Wow, cannot believe today would be the last prompt. It was so lovely to write and read all those haiku and receive wondefful and encouraging comments from great poets here. This was my first Haiku month, and I enjoyed it very much. Thank you very much Leo for hosting such brilliantly and also for your nice comments. Only thing I regret is missing out on those 2 prompts due to my travelling, other than that, it has been a lovely journey. :)

Hello and goodbye to all - what a delightful month - I apologize for having too many "catch-up" days when I posted more than one haiku....but the Universe justly addressed by lassitude and closed me out of the final three! Hope some might take a look. If not, I'll accept my come-uppance with my "big girl pants on"
Again - lovely experience!
